...That last Sunday was the 20th anniversary of Justice Scalia's confirmation to the Supreme Court by the Senate. It's something of a triple anniversary, as Our Hero was commissioned on September 25, 1986 and sworn in on September 26, 1986. Still, an excuse for a celebration is an excuse for a celebration.
I wonder if Senator Byrd had this anniversary in mind when he designated September 17th as "Constitution Day." If it is a coincidence, it's certainly a pleasing one.
