GOP YouTube Debate: No Snowman, But a Question Planted By Hillary
"Mostly what I noticed wasn’t the bulge of their holsters, but the obviousness of CNN’s agenda."
Like the debate format suggestion--bonus points for any candidate that orders something stronger than iced tea to drink.
Scarborough: 'Total Crap' CNN Didn't Know Gay Questioner Is Clinton Campaigner
I'll add a few more that seem to have been missed. Michael Weitz of Question #3 is obviously not an Edwards fan. Jack Brooks of Q#4 is a leader of the Chesapeake Bay Seafood Industries Association who wants migrant workers for his crab-picking plant. Andrew Fink of Question #14 appears to a 9/11 "Truther." Tyler Overman of Memphis is, er, a little odd (vaguely NSFW).
UPDATE: The list just gets longer and longer. Add a Richardson supporter who openly said afterwards his question was shaped and re-shot by CNN and who was a questioner in the previous CNN/YouTube Democratic debate presided over by Anderson Cooper, an activist working with Dick Durbin's office, a former intern for Democratic Congresswoman Jane Harman, and ANOTHER Edwards supporter.
Previous: The CNN Debate--The Wolf is a Beotch
Nice summary
Overman's resume made me laugh. I can't say that Hillary planted a question, but it would have been strange to have a Paul supporter ask Obama why he is timid on confronting the racist and degrading rap.
I remember the gun nut who asked Biden a question and Joe responded by questioning the rationality of letting someone who was affectionately embracing his rifle get a gun in the first place. Another ablative: The Second is our right; I love my beautiful girlfriend..ah..gun.
If CNN wanted to trip up candidates they could have planted real fire bombs. Instead they look silly and apparently out did their question selection at the last Democratic Debate. They could have brought up some old Larry King interviews with Rudy and the Emir of Qatar.
This whole thing has got to be painfully embarrasing.
I generally don't buy into the left-wing media conspiracy, but this is one of those examples that righties will shove in our faces to make their case. This reads like systemic, mind-blowing journalistic incompetence. Are you telling me that after having this excat same problem a couple of weeks ago, on the same network, that they could not think to do basic fact-checking, and the Bill Bennett and low-level righty bloggers had to do this for them? If this is in fact incompetence, then one wonders how CNN even functions as a journalistic outfit anymore.
I almost wonder if CNN isn't secretly in the tank for Obama?
"In the world you will find tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world."
John 16:33
Shoved in face? You bet
This reads like systemic, mind-blowing journalistic incompetence.
Willful omissions of professionalism amounting to naked bias aren't incompetence. They're intent. It seems that CNN's definition of "undecided voter" is anyone who hasn't already voted, which means everyone.
Let's review: Democratic candidate debate involving questions from "undecided voters" is found to be heavily stacked with leftist activists and Democratic Party operatives. CNN gets caught in moments with Google-fu, apologizes, claims ignorance. Republican candidate debate is found to be heavily stacked with leftist activists and Democratic Party operatives. From WSJ's Political Diary:
And another questionable questioner has been tabbed. "Yasmin from Huntsville, Alabama" is a former intern for CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations.
PWNED.
As Fox said last night
if the media doesn't hold CNN to some reasonable standard of competence, then one may reasonable question the bias of the NYT, WAPO and others. Like I don't already? You clearly show incompetence and air-brushing doesn't cut it. My only question is the extent Democratic candidates personally had much to do with CNN manipulation. Given their numerous contradictory positions, it seems they and others like AP have their own strange agenda. I believe the non-Clinton Left was better represented in CNN questions, than by positions Hillary advocates.
People like Russert and others have asked some pretty direct questions of Hillary, yet no one really examined some troubling concerns about Mitt and Rudy. As far as Yasmin, Clinton was questioned by a mother and son, clearly from the anti-war crowd. They were given alot of time painting their picture and Blitzer used their partisan spin to launch into his own question on Iran.
Yes, add crappy journalism to an already uninformative debate. And then the media referees spin who won and how this all changes the races.
